Sock kit "Blåfjell"
Handdyed sock kit consisting of one skein of 100 g and one skein of 50 g. The small skein is intended for the edge, heel and toe, while the rest is knitted with the large one. In any case, this is enough for a pair of socks up to size 46. This yarn is called luxury sock yarn, and is both very soft and durable.
(Psst! Even though it's called sock set, it can be used for all kinds of small garments, such as hats, mittens, scarves, etc.))
It is the extra fine merino blend that makes this yarn luxuriously soft and elastic - this can be used directly next to the skin. A little nylon is added for extra durability. The yarn has a mother-of-pearl effect to it, and looks and feels exclusive because it is.
The yarn is dyed with acid dyes, which are gentle on the environment and give clear, very durable colors.
Pattern suggestions:
75% extra fine merino wool/25% nylon, super wash
We reserve the right that color deviations may occur on the yarn in relation to the images, as this depends on several factors such as screen type, lighting conditions etc. There will also be variations from lot to lot. It is therefore recommended to buy enough yarn for your project in one and the same order.
Hand-dyed yarn, as the name suggests, is a craft, and there will be differences between skeins. There are a few things that might be good to know before you get started:
There is different ways of using skeins, however when knitting garments, we recommend, as good practice, alternating skeins, it’s not usually essential but it does help to spread colours evenly. The Helix method is our favourite technique when knitting in the round. The more colorvariety in the yarn, the more important. This is explained nicely when knitting in the round in this video, and when you knit back and forth in this video.
If you don't want to knit every other round from different skeins (this is done at your own risk 😉), it is recommended to do this a few rounds when changing yarn. This applies regardless of the color of the yarn.
We want you to get the best possible result on the knitwear you spend a lot of time and resources on. 🥰
We recommend hand washing followed by a quick spin, or wool wash program temperature 40°C/104°F if you trust your washing machine. Use ONLY detergent intended for wool/silk (Milo or such). Feel free to add a little clear vinegar - this helps preserve the colors. Do not soak the garment.
Please note that the yarn may contain excess colour. Therefore, wash separately the first time.
All knitted garments should be stored flat.
